How to compress an image
- Choose one or more JPG, PNG or WebP files, or drop them onto the page.
- Set the quality; around 75 keeps photos sharp while cutting the size a lot.
- Optionally convert to WebP or JPEG, which usually gives the biggest savings.
- Enter a maximum length for the longest side if the pictures are larger than you need.
- Compare the sizes before and after, then download single files or all of them.

Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Compression happens entirely in your browser, so private photos never leave your computer or phone.
Which quality should I choose?
Values between 70 and 80 are a good balance for photos. Lower values save more space but can show blocky artefacts.
Why is my PNG not much smaller?
PNG is a lossless format, so quality settings do not apply to it. Convert it to WebP or JPEG to make it much lighter.
Is the photo location removed?
Yes. The images are redrawn from pixels, so EXIF metadata such as the GPS position and camera details is not copied.
Can I compress many images at once?
Yes. Select a whole batch; each file is processed in turn and you can download them one by one or all together.
What if the result is bigger than the original?
If the format and dimensions stay the same, the tool keeps the original file and tells you, so you do not end up with a heavier image.
