Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate gross from net?
Multiply the net amount by one plus the rate. With a 23% rate, 100 net becomes 123 gross, of which 23 is VAT.
How do I get the net amount from a gross price?
Divide the gross amount by one plus the rate. With 23%, 123 gross gives 100 net and 23 VAT. Choose gross as the amount type and the calculator does it for you.
How are the results rounded?
Every amount is rounded to the nearest cent, and half a cent rounds up, the rule most tax offices use for invoices.
Which VAT rates can I use?
The quick buttons cover popular European rates such as 23%, 21%, 20%, 19%, 8% and 5%. You can also type any other rate between 0 and 100 percent.
Can I get the amount in words?
Yes. With the interface in Polish, English or German, the gross total is also written out in words, ready for an invoice.
Is the calculation done online?
The page works in your browser without sending the amounts anywhere, so it is safe to use with confidential prices.
