Case converter

Change letter case, format developer names and clean up lines, with all text transformations performed locally in your browser.

Conversions replace the text above. Restore original returns to the text before your first change. Undo and redo retain up to 20 changes while this page stays open.

Developer cases

Applies only to camelCase, PascalCase and CONSTANT_CASE. Removes accents, converts letters such as ł and ß, and drops characters that cannot be converted to ASCII. Other modes preserve accents.

Quick text cleanup

Convert and tidy your text

  1. Paste the text into the case converter and decide whether you need ordinary capitalization or a developer naming style.
  2. Select a case button to replace the text in the editor, then inspect names and abbreviations.
  3. Enable ASCII only when using camelCase, PascalCase or CONSTANT_CASE if those names must avoid accented characters.
  4. Open cleanup controls to trim whitespace, remove duplicate or empty lines, sort, reverse or replace text.
  5. Undo an unwanted conversion, restore the starting text, or copy and download the finished version.

Common formatting jobs

  • Turn uppercase to lowercase after pasting an all-caps passage.
  • Convert lowercase to uppercase for a short label.
  • Prepare English headings with a title case converter.
  • Create consistent variable names from ordinary word sequences.
  • Clean a copied list before moving it to another editor.

Choosing and checking a case style

How do capitalization modes differ?

Capitalize Each Word starts every word with a capital. English title case leaves listed short words lowercase except at the text's edges. Sentence case lowers the text and capitalizes sentence and line beginnings.

What do the six developer styles produce?

For 'user profile', results are userProfile, UserProfile, user_profile, user-profile, USER_PROFILE and user.profile. Existing camel-case boundaries are also split into words before rebuilding the name.

What happens to accents and German ß?

Ordinary conversions use Unicode case mappings; uppercase ß becomes SS. ASCII mode changes accented letters to basic forms, maps ł to l and ß to ss, and drops unsupported characters in its three supported styles.

Will it preserve acronyms and correct grammar?

It does not recognize proper names or acronyms: NASA may become Nasa. German nouns are not automatically capitalized. Review meaningful names after conversion; this is a formatting tool, not a grammar checker.

What can undo and restore recover?

Undo and redo hold up to 20 tool changes while the page remains open. Restore original returns to the text before the first tool change. This history is not a complete record of manual typing.

How do line cleanup and replacement work?

Reverse changes line order, not character order. Unique lines ignores surrounding whitespace when comparing entries and removes empty lines. Find and replace matches literal, case-sensitive text throughout the current content.
