Frequently asked questions
Why convert PNG to JPG?
JPG files are usually much smaller than PNG for photos and screenshots, and almost every program, phone and website can open them.
What happens to the transparent background?
JPG cannot store transparency, so those pixels are filled with the colour you select. The default is white; pick another colour if the picture will sit on a dark page.
Will I lose quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so some detail is dropped. At quality 90 most people cannot see the difference; raise the slider to 100 for the best result.
Can I resize while converting?
Yes. Type a pixel value in Longest side and the image shrinks so its longer edge matches that number. Leave the field empty to keep the original size.
Does the tool keep my PNG files?
No. Your originals stay on your disk, and the converted copies are created in the browser tab. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
Can I convert many PNG files together?
Yes. Add as many as you like; they are processed in order and the ZIP button saves all finished files in one archive.
