Resize image in pixels or by percentage

Resize multiple images with local browser processing, choose JPG, PNG or WEBP, and download results without uploading your files.

or drop images here

1 KB = 1000 bytes. JPG and WebP use automatic quality and may shrink further to meet the target. PNG ignores this setting. A target is not guaranteed.

Resize settings

Keep small images sharp: Contain adds margins without enlarging pixels; Cover and Stretch may return smaller dimensions. SVG scales freely, with a maximum side of 4096 px.

Presets use Exact size and Cover. Disable “Do not enlarge” if a small image must fill the preset. The passport preset is 413 × 531 px, approximately 35 × 45 mm at 300 DPI. Set 300 DPI when printing; this preset does not write DPI metadata or check official photo requirements.

Enter whole pixel dimensions from 1 to 20000. Rendering is limited to 64 million pixels per image; available device memory may impose a lower limit.

Choose one or more images to start.

Everything runs in your browser. Re-encoding removes EXIF metadata, including GPS, and applies the image orientation.

Rename-only output is the exception: it preserves the original file and all its metadata.

PNG preserves the decoded pixels but cannot recover detail already lost in the source. Animated images become a still image of the first frame. Very large batches depend on device memory.

Set dimensions and save resized images

  1. To resize image files, select your pictures and enter a width, or choose another resizing mode.
  2. Use longest side, height or percentage to preserve proportions; for example, 4000 × 3000 at width 1000 becomes 1000 × 750.
  3. For exact dimensions, choose margins, a centred crop or stretching, or select a social media preset.
  4. Choose the output format and quality; optionally enter a JPG or WEBP target in KB instead of choosing quality manually.
  5. Read each result's dimensions and size, then download images separately or gather multiple results in a ZIP.

Common resizing tasks

  • Give mixed portrait and landscape photos the same longest-side limit.
  • Prepare Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube or LinkedIn assets using the supplied dimensions.
  • Reduce a collection to 50% of its original width and height.
  • Try to resize image to 100 KB for a form with a strict upload limit.
  • Prepare the pixel dimensions for a 35 × 45 mm photo printed at 300 DPI.

Pixels, proportions and file limits

Are pixels and KB the same thing?

Pixels describe dimensions; KB describes stored data, with 1 KB equal to 1000 bytes. Similar dimensions can produce very different file sizes depending on content and encoding.

How do the exact-size options differ?

Contain adds margins, Fill and crop removes outer content centrally, and Stretch changes proportions. Margins use the selected colour for JPG and transparency for PNG or WEBP.

Can Do not enlarge change a preset's dimensions?

Yes. Cropping or stretching may return smaller dimensions when the source is too small. Contain keeps the requested canvas and adds margins without enlarging the picture.

Is the passport preset a verified passport photo?

It sets 413 × 531 pixels, approximately 35 × 45 mm at 300 DPI. Set the print resolution yourself; DPI metadata and official photo compliance are not provided.

Will the KB target always be reached?

JPG and WEBP targets adjust quality and may shrink dimensions further, but a warning appears if the limit is missed. PNG ignores targets; WEBP encoding requires Chrome, Edge or Firefox rather than Safari.

What should I check before a large batch?

Check crops and output transparency first: JPG replaces transparent areas with a background colour. Re-encoding removes metadata, animations become first-frame stills, and device memory limits batch size.
